Sophie Vitelli (Perugia, 1989) is a Stockholm-based composer of electroacoustic music and guitarist. With a background in classical guitar, visual arts and anthropology, her interest in sound and music goes from the particularities of the musical language to the wider contexts within which they are embedded. Drawing hazily and intuitively from classical and alternative guitar repertoires, and relying on electroacoustic instrumentation, her work explores emotion in states of tension between stillness and fluctuation.
Her professional musical practice gravitates mainly around the fields of performance and film. She has worked with duo CM Gratitude at Theatre de l’Usine (Geneve, 2016), Costanza Candeloro (Ateliersi, Bologna 2017) choreographer Hana Erdman (MDT, Stockholm 2022), performer Frida Giulia Franceschini (Callie’s, Berlin 2022).
